Like anything, there is so much competition out there and if you're looking for a cowhide, you can quickly become overwhelmed! It is important to remember that, like with most things, there are various degrees of quality & you need to make sure your buying an A-Grade Cowhide if you want it to stand the test of time and give you all the benefits that come with it.
Our Cowhide are always A-Grade. We know this because we hand-select every single cowhide we have and ensure there is no stitching, no tears and no bald patches.
An A-Grade Cowhide will also always be soft, supple and pliable. You can easily fold, scrunch & drape one of our hides.
This is due to the Chrome tanning process which strips the hide of its natural allergens but retains the moisture of the hide. Often, people complain to us that they have a cowhide and the corners curl up or it feels stiff to touch - this is because they've been tanned too quickly and sadly, won't ever fully rest flat against the floor.
Another important thing to note, is that A-Grade Cowhides are naturally stain resistant and incredibly easy to keep clean. We suggest sweeping & vacuum-cleaning with the grain. You can also use a very lightly damp mop or steam mop to brig up dust and highlight the natural shine to the hide. At the end of the day, it is skin, so all spillages can be mopped up quickly without a trace. Just don't let it soak down and into the hide.
